There is a Newfie expression – “Nar bit ah weader today ‘bye”.
A loose translation being: “Not a bit of weather today my friend” which means there is nothing to report weather wise; no wind, no precipitation and no clouds.
That was the kind of day it was here at HATS; a beautiful sunny and low humidity day.
It was also a slow news reporting day so -
“Nar bit ah blog today ‘bye”!!
The kids went to school.
The cook cooked.
The guard guarded.
The dorm mothers cleaned.
I painted.
The teachers taught.
The laundry lady did the laundry.
The exception of course was Karen. No surprise there.
The surprise was she was on the war path.
(Not sure if the war path was related to her late night meeting last night.)
Anyway she was showing displeasure with and not limited to the following:
· EDH – The local electricity company.
· Kids who didn’t do homework.
· Kids who did but didn’t do enough.
· Kids who did last week’s homework again to look like they knew their homework well.
(That’s a classic I wish I had used!!)
· Teachers who assigned the homework.
· Kids who lost books.
· Kids who tore books.
· Kids who didn’t bring their homework books home.
· Direct TV.
· The lawyer handling Ti-Luc’s passport and birth certificate file.
· ETC.
You get the idea. I decided it was a good day to get off the compound, so I took the ladder and started painting the main gate – from the outside.

Later in the afternoon after things had returned to normal, JJ and Vladimy climbed upon the roof and started knocking down mangoes to Moise and Leica waiting below.

PS. - I think Karen was also annoyed with the cockroaches because she sent someone to spray my place against them.

Oh Keith, I love your blogs! I was laughing right out loud and I could picture it all and even hear it. I am going to bed with a smile on my face, thank you.
If Karen was on the warpath I would go farther than the outside of the gate, brave man Keith.
Lol. Another great blog!
Who said there was 'Nar bit a work done for a blog today?' Look's like a blog full of news good & bad! Plus, it also looks like plenty of work was being done whether it was because Karen was on the 'war path or not'!!!
I don't care my friends, still a good blog today .. thanks!!!!
As a good Newfie would say, 'Praying fer an even a better day da mar!!' :) Mx
It is a good thing I did not read this blog last night or I would have laughed all night instead of sleeping. Keith did tell me he put in the blog I was on the war path. He sent it directly - I lost internet which just returned. I am going to work at the school now but I am still laughing. Kids did their homework and studied yesterday afternoon due to Mama Karen being on the warpath. guess I need to do it more often. Cute little monkey doodles that I have here. Their game playing between the teachers, housemothers, Mama, and also Keith caught up with them yesterday. Thanks Keith for a great blog!
It is noon and I am still laughing about this blog and I read it before I went to bed last night. I thought I would check it again on my lunch break to see if it was still as funny and I laughed again and then read Karen's comment and I am laughing more. Thanks again Keith!
Karen, thanks for the memories!!!
The fun, while you were here and the laughs both here and the blog today.
I remember well the Newfie expression, "Nuttier than a fruit cake" & that bespeaks of both you and Keith and your family too(and I speak from experience :).)
This blog, is well put together helping us all to visualize a little of HATS - not only the ministry but the fun times thank you!!
PS - Glad you were here last week and not this one. We have been in house for the past two days .. lower temps then they have had since the 90's. Ice on the bridges, etc.
Karen, thank you for coming!!!
God bless you, the children, Keith, Luckner and your staff/teams!
Prayerfully yours,
Maxi Hugs
